Writing has been an active part of my life since grade school when I developed an interest in short story writing. Poetry has been an active part of my life since high school.
During my 15 years at Cleveland State University, I co-authored in a book about economic development in 1999 and authored more than 30 articles and book chapters on economic and environmental issues and trends. I am just beginning research for a new book about the future of economic development.
Since 2004, I have published four poetry books [Stilling the Waters (2004 and 2006), Walks in Life's Sacred Garden (2008), Chasing Cosmic Butterflies (2016), and Poetic and Philosophical Reflections on Economic Development (2016)], and edited two others (A collection of poems by mental health patients and a book of my father's poetry). Click here to read some of my poetry. Click here to learn more about Chasing Cosmic Butterflies. Finally, click here to learn more about Poetic and Philosophical Reflections on Economic Development.
Since 2005, I have published four books of photography (Winter Spirit, Spring Promises, Lake Erie Sunsets and Sunrises, Encountering the Soul of Cleveland).
I teach an online undergraduate essay writing course at the University of Philosophical Research (UPR), which is based in Los Angeles. Click here to learn more about the course.
I am working on the design of a new course at UPR on using photography as a tool to understand the principles of Archetypal Psychology and Zen Buddhism. Stay tuned.
Speaking and Workshops
I enjoy public speaking and giving workshops on my work. Public speaking is a part of my current economic development work in Ashtabula County. Click here to watch a one-hour interview about my work in Ashtabula County. Click here to hear me give the 2015 commencement speech at the Kent State University, Ashtabula spring graduation ceremony.
I would be delighted to give a talk to your group or lead a workshop on economic development, photography, poetry, or the wisdom and creative path. Email me if you would like to discuss your interests.
